BURNING GRACE?

How do you think of Grace?

Do you think of it primarily as that forgiveness which is granted you by God when you just happen to sin?

In his book THE GREAT OMISSION: Reclaiming Jesus’s Essential Teachings on Discipleship, author Dallas Willard makes a powerful case for how many of us misunderstand Grace.

I love the way he puts it. He says, the true saint burns through Grace like a 747 burns fuel on take-off.

Most of us would say, how can that be?

It is because none of us are able to comprehend the perfectness of Almighty God.

And in spite of our most earnest effort and devotion, even with the help of the Holy Spirit to: ….be perfect, even as our heavenly Father is perfect (Matthew 5:48), we still fall far short of the high calling to which we are called in Christ. (Philippians 3:14).

So let us move on in the confidence of knowing that we can never burn more Grace than God can and will provide.

OH! REALLY? Hmm

PRAISE BE TO GOD FOR HIS UNFATHOMABLE PATIENCE WITH US.
