THE ULTIMATE WIN-WIN
Everyone wants to win. Unfortunately, for someone to win in the traditional sense, someone has to lose. No one likes to lose. That has to be why WIN/WINS are so rare.
In the last few years several automobile manufacturers have begun offering 100,000 mile or 10 year warranties on some of their models. And for those who bought them, that has been a pure win/win situation.
A new car for 10 years or 100,000 miles (whichever should happen first) and no repair surprises. Sounds like a win/win to me.
However, there were a few conditions. The owner had to care for the vehicle by following the manufacturer’s operating instructions, take it in to the dealer for regular check-ups and maintenance, and use the right fuel and lubricants.
If it is a diesel powered car, the new owner cannot use regular gas, otherwise the warranty is invalidated. If the new owner fails to care for the vehicle by following the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule, and there is a problem with the vehicle, the warranty will not be honored.
Every biological parent who experiences the miracle of a healthy new infant is given a similar warranty. And it too comes with conditions. They have to care for the infant by following the manufacturer’s operating instructions. They have to take the infant in to one of the manufacturer’s recommended dealers for regular check-ups and maintenance and use the fuels that have been recommended by the manufacturer.
OH, REALLY? Hmm Yes, really. We have these words from the book of Deuteronomy, Chapter 6:
And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. Y You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
Now, you may be asking, what does this have to do with THE ULTIMATE WIN/WIN? Good question. It is a question I too asked.
In fact, it has everything to do with it. Hang in there with me, just a bit longer
The above passage from Deuteronomy are some of the first pages of the Owner’s Manual which the Manufacturer provided for those He created.
God didn’t create us to get 50,000 miles and end up in the repair shop repeatedly. Or to live angry, desperate, frustrated, fearful, unfulfilled, joyless lives.
In the Gospel of John, Chapter 10, verse 10, we have these words:
My adversary, Satan, came to steal, to kill and to destroy. But I have come that you might have life, and not just an abundant life, but a MORE abundant life.
God is offering the best WIN/WIN deal of the Ages and most people have no idea of what it is.
In the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 11, verses 28 & 29, we have these words:
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.
And when I come to Him He will receive me and walk with me and help me live the life I was created to live.
Be comforted and assured by the following words:
Your word is a light unto my feet and lamp unto my pathway. Psalm 119:105
I’ll never leave you nor forsake you. I’ll be with you always, even to the end of the Age. Matthew 28:20 Hebrews 13:5
For without faith, it is impossible to please God. for those who come to Him must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek after Him. Hebrews 11:6
The deal God is offering any who will believe in Him and in His Son, Jesus Christ, is THE ULTIMATE WIN/WIN deal.
It’s a WIN in this life…and BTW, it’s for more than 10 years or 100,000 miles, it’s for ETERNITY!.
OH, REALLY? WOW!
P.S. Well, there is one caveat. You will not be immune to the occasional pot hole, the crazy driver who is not paying attention, or the occasional part that, for reasons only
known to God, fails to function as it was created and designed to function. But one
benefit of this relationship is that it does come with AAA. That’s a promise Jesus made in Matthew 28:20, we have these words:
“…..and I will be with you Always (Always, Always), even unto the end of the world.
