YOU SINNED? AGAINST GOD? REALLY?

Someone had the temerity, yes, the audacity to say to you, “You have sinned against GOD!” 

What were your thoughts when you heard this? Anger, anger, and more anger?  

Or, were they sorrowful thoughts?  Were they “Oh,  my goodness, what have I done?” thoughts?  

Against GOD? What does that really mean?”

Our language doesn’t serve us well when we try to explain ‘sin’.  

I can’t, you can’t sin ‘against GOD’.  That infers you and I can diminish HIM or injure HIM in some way by sinning ‘against HIM’.  

GOD is a FATHER who created us and WHO has adopted us as HIS children. 

And why?  To love us, to be loved by us….and to be proud of us when we live the life that HE created us to live.  And ANYTHING….yes, anything that keeps us from doing that….is sin.  

In sum, HE hates anything that hurts HIS children. And that is why HE hates sin.  

OH! REALLY? Hmm….
