THERE IS NO MIDDLE GROUND

In the biblical story of creation, God told Adam that he was not to eat of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and if he did, he would die.

Then the serpent came and told Eve that was not true, but that it would make her like God in that she would know good and evil.

Make one like God? Wow! That is pretty heady stuff. The ability to know good and evil makes us like God?

Knowing good and knowing evil is one thing. Knowing the (significance of the) “difference between good and evil are two completely different things.

God put no limit on knowing good because He knew knowing good would not in any way put Man in danger.

But He knew the power of evil. He also knew that there was a “no man’s land”, as it were, between Good and Evil which Man was not created to be able to bear all by himself.

It is in that “no man’s land”, that squishy middle-ground in which more and more Christians are finding themselves being drawn away from the basic truths of the Bible.

It is that area that is producing the lies that are at the root of the “progressive” movement in so many evangelical circles. As noted by R. Albert Mohler, president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky.,

“there is no middle ground between affirming and denying the bodily resurrection of Jesus. There is no middle ground between defining marriage as being the union of a man and a woman and saying it can be something else. “

We are in danger of becoming like the Israelites in the time of the Judges.

“In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.”

OH! Really? Hmm

Thank you, Lord!
