WHO? ME? YES. YOU!
Especially if you live in one of the large metropolitan centers of the world, it is so easy to get lost in the crowd.
Mother Teresa is reported to have said that every human being has the following words tattooed on their foreheads:
I need to matter.
We all do.
The other day I was channel surfing on my way to a program I wanted to record and stopped to watch a few minutes of a show where the host was choosing people from the audience to come on up and be participants on the show.
He pointed his finger in the direction of the audience and said, You please, in the blue shirt. A guy in a blue shirt stood up and said, me?, Yes, you. Please come on up.
The Holy Scriptures are replete with both direct as well as indirect references to how God chooses each one of us – how He invites each one of us to come on up to Him, and through His Son, Jesus Christ and in the Power of the Holy Spirit, to allow Him to help us to become all He created us to be.
He knows the number of hairs on our head, He knows when a sparrow falls from its nest. (Luke 12:7)
In Proverbs 15:3, we have these words:
The eyes of the Lord are in every place.
You matter to God. He allowed His Son to suffer unimaginably just for you to be free of any power Satan has to have dominion over you.
Who? Me? Yes, YOU! Come on up.
OH! REALLY? Hmm
